Camino de Santiago (3rd day)

Under the weather
The start of day three was a huge disappointment and frustrating. I woke up in the early morning hours to a nasty stomach bug. It has a major hold on me. I went to an ER in Ponferrada and received a shot to try to calm my gastrointestinal tract but it wasn’t a magic fix. I have missed the first day of the walk and had to take a taxi to our next hotel location. I arrived earlier than check in but the inn owner Jeff was a life saver. He let me check in early, brought my bag to the room along with some hot tea and an extra blanket. Now that’s service! I was so grateful for his hospitality and care while I was feeling very puny. I have been resting today and really want to get along the way on the Camino tomorrow but that remains to be seen. Tomorrow is a challenging day with elevation changes and one of our longer mileage days. Please say a prayer that I can shake this bug and get back to what I came here for.
